Why Hamirpur is famous for ?

Hamirpur is famous for the child saint shrine “Shri Baba Balak Nath Deoth Sidh“, district lies in the South-West part of the state and constitute the central micro region of Himachal Pradesh. Hamirpur is covered by Shivalik Range.Hamirpur is the most literate district of the state and is well connected by roads from all sides.Most of the people serve in the defence services, so it is also known as “Veer Bhoomi”.

1. Suganpur Tira:-

Sujanpur Fort
Suganpur was founded by Raja Abhay Chand, the king of ruling Katoch dynasty of Kangra in 1748 A.D.The fort, Sujanpur Tira is situated at a distance of 22kms from Hamirpur town and touches the Kangra border.There is a tomb of Nawab Gulam Mohammed of Rampur.Suganpur  was first visited by a German, named ‘Traveck’ and then by a British traveller named ‘Moorcraft’.,This place is also famous for the Chaugan (ground) which is the biggest one in the state. A famous 4 days State Level Holi Fair is organised in this ground during Holi festival.

Deotsidh:-

Baba Balak Nath Temple Deothsidh is situated on the border of Bilaspur and Hamirpur district and is well connected by roads from all sides. During Navratras, there is a continuous stream of visitors to receive blessings of the Babaji. Deotsidh is a cave temple that is dedicated to Baba Balak Nath.










3. Nadaun:-

Nadaun is Known for the Bilkleshwar Mahadev temple which is said to be have been founded by the Pandavs. It is used to be the headquarters of the Nadaun Jagir, Maharaja Sansar Chand of Kangra. Rangas is knows for best fish market and you will find delicious fish to eat. Another attraction is the river rafting from this place to Dehra and further. There are beautiful camping sites for anglers. The Amtar Cricket Stadium (established by Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association) is another place worth visit. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium established by the HPCA situated on the bank of the Beas River is also a beautiful place to visit.

4. Gasota:-

Gasota village was famous for the ancient Shiva temple. People from different places visit this holy place to seek the blessing of the Lord Shiva. A famous Cattle Fair is organized at Gasota every year on the first Monday of Jayshtha Month. This is a very beautiful place. There is also a swimming pool facility to remove the tiredness of shiv bhagat and to have fun .

5. Lambloo:-

A very famous Shani Dev Temple is situated at Village Sarlin (Lambloo) at a distance of 10 Kilometers from Hamirpur. People from different places come to visit the Shani temple and for Tula Daan. Huge rush flows to this place on the weekends and particularly on the Jayshtha Shanivaar. 






There is also the famous Bil Keshwer Mahadev temple situated at Village Chamned, 2km far from lambloo.
